The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Key Largo woman on Thursday for possession of a variety of drugs after responding to a noise complaint.
Deputies responded to a complaint that someone on Hibiscus Lane around 1:45 a.m. was driving around and playing loud music. Upon arrival, deputies found Carlavet Williams, 57, parked in the middle of the road with her car off, according to the police report.
Williams approached deputies to ask if there was a problem, and deputies explained why they were there. When asked for her driver’s license, she returned to the car to retrieve it. When she opened her car door, deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Williams said she had smoked earlier in the day, but didn’t have any more on her.
However, the deputies searched her vehicle, where they found a marijuana cigarette, .5 grams of cocaine and one Xanax pill. She also had 6 blood pressure medication pills, but no prescription for them.
Deputies then arrested Williams and transported her to the Plantation Key Jail.
However, upon arrival, deputies discovered that Williams had smuggled into jail another baggy of cocaine, weighing .6 grams, by concealing it in her bra.
Williams is being charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of new legend drugs without a prescription and introducing contraband into a correctional facility.
