Two Marathon construction workers were arrested and charged with battery after they attacked a foreman on the job site.

Juan Miguel Torna Rojas, 35, and William Padron Perez, 48, were both charged with battery causing bodily harm.

Around 8:30 a.m., deputies met with the victim of the battery, who explained the situation. According to him, Rojas was complaining that he didn’t want to work on the victim’s crew anymore, but his boss said if he didn’t want to work on the crew, Rojas would be fired. Rojas gave up arguing and walked away.

However, as he passed the victim, Rojas punched him in the face.

The victim fell over and Rojas began to kick him. Simultaneously, Perez jumped in and started kicking the victim in the abdomen. The boss and several other workers eventually separated the three men, and Perez and Rojas left the scene.

Deputies tracked down the two men, and ultimately found them at William’s residence.

They were arrested without incident. The two men were being held at the Monroe County Detention Center. Both men were released the following day, after posting their $10,000 bails.

Information in the Crime Report is obtained from reports provided by area law enforcement agencies.
