The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pompano Beach man on Wednesday for possession of drugs after they clocked him speeding in Big Pine Key.
Evans Dieuveille, 27, was charged with possession of a synthetic cannabinoid, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Around 9:30 p.m., a deputy spotted a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 35-mph zone.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Dieuveille and another person in the passenger seat.
According to the report, the deputy smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, so he asked the occupants to exit the vehicle. After being asked if he had any drugs, Dieuveille produced a bag with marijuana from the center console.
The deputy then conducted a search of the rest of the vehicle, where he found another bag of marijuana and an electronic cigarette with a marijuana cartridge. The cartridge’s package had a label stating it was “Cloud-9, 85 percent THC, 500 ml.” Dieuveille stated the marijuana and the electronic cigarette were his.
In total, Dieuveille had 14 grams of marijuana, excluding the electronic cigarette.
Dieuveille was transported to the Monroe County Detention Center without incident.
Dieuveille was released the following day.
