The Key West Police Department arrested a Key West man on Friday after responding to a call of a suspicious person and finding the man selling drugs near an Old Town deli.
Officers found Jose Silverio-Zamora, 58, at the scene matching the description of the suspicious person. Employees at the deli reported that they are familiar with Silverio-Zamora, whom they say has intimidated them in the past. According to the report, they have asked him numerous times not to come around their business.
Silverio-Zamora consented to a search from officers, where they found nine clear baggies of cocaine wrapped in a paper towel in his pocket. The total weight of the drugs was 9.8 grams, according to the report.
Silverio-Zamora was charged with possession with intent to sell. Officers transported him to the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island.
