The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a DeLand, Florida couple on Monday for possession of a variety of drugs after troopers pulled them over for speeding.

Kristen Marie Noell, 33, and Sean P. Noell, 36, were both charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Around 6:18 p.m., troopers clocked the couple travelling 64 mph in a 45-mph zone. After conducting a traffic stop, the troopers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the report. Troopers asked the couple if they had any marijuana, and they replied that there was a small amount underneath the passenger seat.

The troopers removed the couple from the car to conduct a search. In the car, troopers found a plastic baggie with marijuana, a mason jar with marijuana, two multicolored glass pipes and a grinder. Furthermore, troopers found 15 alprazolam (Xanax) pills, 7.75 pills of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine (Adderall), and eight packages of buprenorphine and naloxone (Suboxone).

According to the report, Kristen, who was in possession of some of each of those drugs, could not provide a prescription for any of them. Sean was able to provide a prescription for the Xanax, but nothing else.

Troopers placed the couple under arrest and transported them both to the Plantation Key jail, where they were being held without bail.

Information in the Crime Report is obtained from reports provided by area law enforcement agencies.
