The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Key West woman on Tuesday after she tried to run over her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend with a car.
Brittany Danielle Delgado, 31, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
Deputies responded to a reported battery on Stock Island, and arrived to find a scene that they described as “chaos” in their report. According to the report, deputies found Delgado screaming outside of the victims’ residence.
Once detained, Delgado stated she couldn’t breathe. Medical personnel responded, and after a medical check, Delgado denied treatment.
According to the report, the victims stated that Delgado and the ex-boyfriend arrived together at his home, where Delgado got into a fight with the female victim. Both the male and female victim began running away from the scene, but Delgado got into her vehicle and attempted to run them both over, although nobody was hit.
The female ran back to the residence, where she locked herself in the bathroom with her child in an attempt to hide from Delgado. Delgado returned to the residence and tried to break into the bathroom door with a knife. However, the fight stopped after this.
According to the report, neither victim wished to press charges. However, deputies wrote that if Delgado remained at large, further violence might occur.
Delgado was placed under arrest and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center. She was released on Wednesday.
