A Big Pine Key man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly created a scene outside of Starbucks on Front Street, hid from police and was later found to be in possession of cocaine.
Sean Michael Wilson, 21, was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine and resisting an officer without violence.
Around 2:15 a.m., Key West Police Department officers responded to Front Street after reports of a man with no shirt acting erratically. Officers arrived and found the suspect, later identified as Wilson, but he ran and hid in the bushes near Kino Plaza on Fitzpatrick Street, according to the report.
Officers located and attempted to detain him, although Wilson tried to roll away and refused to give the officers his hands. Eventually, they handcuffed him and they placed him in the patrol car. Wilson continued to act erratically, yelling that it was his birthday (it was) and that he was going to jail, according to the report.
While getting his ID out of his wallet, a small baggie reportedly fell out with .2 grams of cocaine. At this point, Wilson stated he would not answer any questions and wanted a lawyer. Officers discovered Wilson is on felony probation for burglary of an occupied conveyance, and a special condition of his probation is “no alcohol and no illegal drugs.”
Wilson was booked into jail, where he was being held without bond.
