MARATHON — A woman accused of telling a 6-year-old girl to sit in a chair to guard a parking spot at a housing complex while she went grocery shopping was arrested Thursday, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident took place at approximately 10 p.m. on Dec. 7 in the parking lot of the 240 Sombrero Road housing complex, reports say. According to detectives who investigated the case, Solis left the child sitting on a chair to guard her parking spot while she went to Publix.
The Sheriff’s Office received information about the incident the following day. When they confronted Solis, she admitted it was true, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
When investigators interviewed the child, the child said it was not the first time Solis had her hold her parking spot. Detectives obtained a warrant for the woman’s arrest.
