KEY WEST — Perhaps ‘tis not the season.
A 63-year-old man accused of fighting with his 41-year-old girlfriend in the Kmart parking lot on North Roosevelt Boulevard over items in a shopping cart was arrested late Thursday night, according to police.
The fisticuffs began at 7:50 p.m. when police were dispatched to the store for the second time in 30 minutes over a dispute, reports say.
The second time, the suspect said he and his girlfriend got into a fight over their items in a shopping cart. The woman told police she pushed the man away, reports say.
A witness told officers he saw the fight and saw both pushing each other as well the woman bite the suspect’s hand before the suspect yelled at him, “You don’t know what the —- is going on, you’re just doing this for a ——- piece of —!”
The woman told police the suspect called her foul names in front of children and families also in the parking lot.
Police charged the man with disorderly conduct and took him to jail on Stock Island.
